BROWSER AND SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Browsers

It is highly recommended that the Ascent portal be accessed using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome Version 30 or higher web browser.

Certain features and functions may not perform correctly in previous or later versions of Google Chrome or other web browsers, and, although these browsers may be used, their behavior or support will not be guaranteed.

Adobe Acrobat Reader

Also, in many cases it will also be necessary for the device, computer, or laptop, from which the portal is being accessed, have a current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on it. This is so that documents that are made available through the portal as a Portable Document Format (PDF) file can be viewed. For example, in order to view and print a property tax bill from the portal, the user will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. To get the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, click this link.

DISABLING POP-UP BLOCKERS

If these settings are not set as described below, you will not get receipt PDFs and other reports to display in the browser.

Occasionally you may find that certain features do not seem to be working in Ascent (for example you are unable to print a receipt). It may be due to your browser blocking pop-ups. For instructions on whitelisting (allowing) pop-ups click this link.

CLEARING YOUR BROWSER CACHE (DELETING BROWSING HISTORY)

Why clear out your browsers cache and cookies?

The cache and cookies should be cleared regularly for several reasons. Depending on your settings, the cache can grow quite big, use a lot of disk space on your computer and cause slow web browsing. The cache can also cause issues when viewing new versions of previously visited web pages. Deleting the cache and cookies data regularly helps to troubleshoot, helps to increase the loading time of web pages, loads new versions of web pages and increases the performance of your computer. For information on clearing your browser's cache click this link.

If you are using Internet Explorer, Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox you can quickly clear cache with a keyboard shortcut. While in your browser, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete simultaneously on the keyboard to open the appropriate window.

IMPORTANT: Be sure and close/quit the browser and restart it after clearing the cache and cookies.
